So today was the last stage of le Tuna, The Situation: We were riding for team GC and GC places for (most importanly) Mike Lange and Eric Murphy, and the seeing how far I could move up from 32nd, Today was the hardest day with 2 mountains (and APPARENTLY! many MANY unmarked climbs between) I was the going to be the 3rd guy to finish on time for the day (team GC is determined by the top 3) so I HAD to have a good day.

The Set up, 100 miles, 2 mountains in the last 50 miles, 1 Klein from Neutral support in the wrong size so it drove like a Lincoln town car, Campy I havent used in 5 years, and the best gear i could get was an 11-23 (i NEEDED a 25)....the situtation was compounded when I looked this morning to see I was riding on 170 cranks the last 2 days.....anyone who has seen me ride, or climb especially knows I can grind a big gear like thats what you are supposed to do.

So i was overgeared and underleveraged (is that a word?) and I couldnt screw up, the main plan being to make the second group over the main climb = everything then being OK as far as Team and Gamm GC goes.

Before the race:
Mind: "Body im going to hurt you today, and im not going to sugar coat this at all, its gonna be real bad'
Body: "bring it on, Ive been through worse, Mono/drinking/this summers mental breakdown, ect....bring on everthing you got"

During the race:
Mind: "For Godsakes stop!!!!! I think you are doing permanet damage!"
Body: "Ridng gets us to the finish line, the faster we go the sooner we are there, there they have Low Carb Chocolate, Low Carb Chocolate is good, just follow the yellow jersey, just follow the yellow Jersey...."

So the first 'flat' (HAHAHAHAH!!!! not a chance) 50 miles had Webcore laying the smiizzzity smack down to make sure no breaks went, it was strung out like I was last semester the WHOLE time, when we hit the climb I didnt even get a chance to get in the lead group, but I made the 2nd group, running about 23rd-42nd on the road or something like that....good enough for me and to get the job done, the race was hard, really hard.....like Chinesse Algebra....or learning french as Im comming to find out.

the No talent Clown award goest to some guy from the Northwave -trailtir team from Texas (Te'has) who attacked in the first K of the day, did he actually think he could hold of webcore? does he hate himself? did he see the luckey charms at the end of the rainbow?

I rolled in for 32nd on the day, the best part was people in my group sprinted for 24th or whatever it was, what a bunch of boobs.

Im also sorry to say Dave Wenger was unable to start today cause he was sick, Daves a STG (super tuff guy) and a great teamate and damn fun to room with at races....hes also now a lover of the Low Carb Chocolate

Number of Low carb Chocolate bars I now have thanks to the Tour de Tuna = > 50

Number of problems I have had with it = 0

Number I would admit to if I had problems with it = O

I stopped at Sheetz after the race for lunch because I like to live dangerously

Q. Why did i stop and Sheetz for lunch? A. IF you have never been to one you are missing out, its the best fast food period, and its at a gas station so you can get your deit Mt. Dew Code Red there too, or whatever else you like (why would you even want anything else though)

Q. Why is that living dangerously? A. in the Pittsburg/ALtoona Area in the last 10 days there was a Salaminla (sp?) outbreak linked to the tomatos at Sheetz.....man, am I billybadass or what?

Now that Le Tuna is over I think im gonna go home and not ride for a few days until i get a new frame, or duct tape this one.
